The Center for Transformative Action is hosting the first annual Finger Lakes Social Entrepreneurship Institute (Sept 13-15). Registration has been extended to August 31. Don't miss it! Space is limited. http://www.centerfortransformativeaction.org/SE-Institute.html

Social entrepreneurs are innovative, resourceful change makers, seeking to resolve our society's most pressing social problems. They are doing this by creating thriving social ventures that redefine what for-profit andnon-profit mean. They bridge social and ideological differences because they know that listening for shared values, common objectives, and opportunities for mutual benefit help to create local economies that are just, sustainable, and work for everyone.

This Institute will bring together new and experienced social entrepreneurs to share best practices and co-create new possibilities. Using the book “The Business Model Generation” as a guide, participants will learn how to reinvent their mission-driven enterprise to have greater social impact while meeting the financial, environmental and social challenges of today. Each participant will leave the Institute with a detailed business plan and concrete next steps specific to their organization.

The fee for the institute is $275, which includes meals andsubstantial snacks throughout the two and a half days, as well as dozens of workshops and panels, led by experienced social entrepreneurs, inspiring change makers, and leading experts in the field.

The Institute will be held on Cornell's campus September 13 and 14, and in downtown Ithaca at the Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC) on September 15.
