Technology for Change: ConvergeUS

Singlebrook is proud to present ConvergeUS as part of its T4C campaign! ConvergeUS was created approximately one year ago by a political network of CEOs and senior executives with a purpose identical to the T4C mission: “[to] rapidly expand the positive impacts of technology-based social innovation.”

This team, TechNet, developed a three-prong approach to strengthen the group focus on using technological advances to spur social change. Its first point consists of ConvergeUs Summits; conventions of “social innovators, problem-solvers and subject matter experts” to discuss specific and relevant issues to be addressed. The second component is the Online Clearinghouse for Innovation Fellows and other Social Innovators, which involves the creation and management of a virtual innovation marketplace. The third and final part of the TechNet approach focuses on Social Innovation Technology Projects and aims to implement effective and scalable social innovation projects.

The main issues of interest for ConvergeUS are early childhood education, support for military families, sustainability and emergency preparedness. TechNet also encourages visitors to the website to share their ideas of other areas that exhibit high potential for gains from collective and innovative technology use. With representation from the technology, nonprofit, governmental and academic sectors, ConvergeUS demonstrates a broad and powerful collaboration with the promise of accelerating and enhancing significant social change.

We at Singlebrook are happy to share this story of technology for change! If you know of other great examples of T4C, we encourage you to join our movement by sharing them on Twitter using the hashtag: #SinglebrookT4C or in our LinkedIn Group: Singlebrook Technology for Change.
