Web and Mobile Programmer Apprentice

Singlebrook Technology, a web and mobile development firm in Ithaca, NY, is seeking a Web and Mobile Programming Apprentice. This position has the potential to lead to full-time employment after a 2-month apprenticeship is completed.

The ideal candidate for this position is a meticulous, detail-oriented and passionate Web Programmer who codes for fun in their spare time and loves working on a variety of challenging and interesting projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important because our developers often interact directly with clients.

We are looking for a candidate who is based in the Ithaca area or someone who is willing to relocate to Ithaca. This is not a telecommuting position.

Skills: (It's not necessary to have all of the skills on this list. You should be currently learning or interested in learning & working with these kinds of technologies):

  • Ruby on Rails
  • Drupal
  • Coldfusion
  • JavaScript
  • HTML/CSS
  • PHP
  • SQL & Database Design
  • Mobile Development (iOS, Android and mobile web)
  • Automated Testing/TDD/BDD

Education/Experience: Candidates at all levels of education and experience will be considered. Applicants should ideally be out of school or completing their final year, and available full-time during Spring/Summer 2012. Experience working with these technologies is preferred, but this is an apprentice position, so extensive experience is not required. However, a passion for programming is definitely essential!

Compensation: Tompkins County Living Wage ($12.78/hr).
